The first Scientific Committee Meeting of the Via Eurasia cultural route project was hosted by Boğaziçi University

 

The first Scientific/Academic Committee Meeting of the Via Eurasia cultural route took place in Istanbul on December 20th 2019 at Boğaziçi University under the leadership of the Cultural Routes Society and was co-hosted by Boğaziçi University Dpt. of Tourism Administration and Applied Tourism Administration and Research Center.

 

The Via Eurasia is a cross border cultural route which links Italy to Turkey through the Balkans and is composed of individual networks of ancient roads, ranging from the Phrygian network, through roads of the Roman Empire, to those of the Ottoman Empire.

 

As part of the Civil Society Dialogue 5 EU Program, the purpose of the scientific committee is to provide advice concerning the application dossier to the Council of Europe for the certification of the cultural route, and to manage scientific activities to be carried out under this framework.
