About Our Alumni
The four year undergraduate (BA) program in B.U. Tourism Administration develops students’ knowledge and skills in various areas including management, finance, marketing, sustainable destination management, human resources management, economy, interpersonal communication, psychology, event management, food and beverage management, accommodation and travel management, thus allowing the alumni to successfully step into professional business life or continue with graduate education.
The alumni of the department have been accepted to complete graduate degrees at various prestigious universities in and outside Turkey. The alumni, who continue their graduate education in Turkey, choose universities such as Boğaziçi University, İstanbul Technical University, Galatasaray University, Marmara University, Koç University, Sabancı University and İstanbul Bilgi University. The alumni, who continue their graduate education abroad, choose universities such as University College London, City University of New York, NYU, University of Houston, London School of Economics, University of York, HEC Paris, Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration, University of Massachusetts, University of Connecticut, Warwick University, Umea Universitat, Berlin School of Economics and Law. Our alumni, who successfully receive their (Ph.D.) degrees, continue their careers as scholars in Turkey and abroad.
The alumni of the department successfully start their professional business life both in tourism sector and other sectors as management candidates or as managers. Those who continue their career in tourism, mainly choose to work in accommodation (JW Marriot, Hilton Worldwide, Shangri-La, 10 Karaköy-Morgans, Raffles Hotel, Swiss Hotel, Çırağan Kempinski etc..), travel (Booking.com, Expedia, MetGlobal, Bukla, Vanguard Travel Services etc.), airline (Türk Havayolları, Sun Express, AtlasGlobal, Çelebi etc..), organization-event (İstanbul CETC., Lütfi Kırdar Kongre Merkezi etc..) and food and beverage (Doğuş-D.ream Grup, Bacardi, BTA Airport Catering etc..) industries. Those who prefer to continue their career outside tourism, choose various national and multinational companies in different industries including finance and banking (Fibabank, Finansbank etc.), consultancy (Heidrick and Struggles, KMPG, etc.), PR, communication (Türk Telekom, Vodafone), advertising (Pixel Plus Interactive, Karbonat etc.), FMCG (Unilever, Pepsi) and IT.
In addition to that, an ever increasing number of our alumni successfully start up and grow their own businesses as entrepreneurs in various fields.
